CLIQ is a new Social Platform for Blog Merchandising

by Kevin Tate on September 13, 2007

CLIQ is in Beta!

It’s exciting times here at StepChange, as we’ve just launched the Beta for CLIQ – a "Blog Merchandising Platform" that we’ve been working on with our good friends over at Offermatica.

The original idea for CLIQ came from hearing bloggers’ frustration with the lack of tools to help them ‘merchandise’ (promote, feature, target, etc.) their content – which impacts their ability to attract and engage readers effectively.  John Battelle wrote an excellent (and inspiring, clearly) post on this Blog Merchandising Problem back in January.

Band Together, Everyone Wins

Which brings us to CLIQ. In order to help bloggers actively promote and share their content, CLIQ combines three distinct things to create a Social Platform for Blog Merchandising.

1. The CLIQ Widget – which features content across a CLIQ’s member blogs

2. The CLIQin Social Network – which lets bloggers join forces with their friends

3. Offermatica’s Content Targeting Engine – which drives content features and relevance

Engage Your Audience, Collectively

By combining these, CLIQ let’s bloggers do some pretty unique things, like:

  • ‘Team up’ with other blogs they like to help ‘all boats rise’.
  • Promote specific posts, pushing what’s hot or giving some air-time to an oldie-but-goodie.
  • Compete to see who can get the most traffic, and share the most within their CLIQ.

Come Check It Out…

If you think you might be interested in Starting or Joining a CLIQ, you can sign up for the Beta at CLIQin.com.  And you can read more about the concept in our FAQ.

We’re just starting our Beta, so ‘please pardon our dust’…but we’d love your help in making this a unique and useful tool for the blogging community.
